Marshall A. Handy, CPA, MSA

Marshall is a Certified Public Accountant and Senior Accountant of the local public accounting firm of Roger L. Handy, PC.

Prior to joining Roger L. Handy, PC, Marshall was Senior Auditor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency in Newport News, Virginia, performing audits of incurred cost submissions from defense contractors, contract proposals, calculated overhead rates allocable to contracts, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) compliance, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) to determine allowance costs on contracts.  Marshall also worked as a Audit Intern for Cherry, Bekaert, & Holland, L.L.P.

At Roger L. Handy, PC, he performs attest services for not-for-profit organizations, homeowner associations, and closely-held businesses.  He enjoys assisting clients with accounting and tax planning and preparation.  Marshall manages the firm's Information Technology (IT) Department.

Marshall earned his Master of Science degree in Accountancy from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia in December 2004.  In May 2003, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia with his primary major in Accounting and Information Systems with a double major in Finance.

He is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and its Tidewater Chapter, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Marshall is an Eagle Scout and is active in London Bridge Baptist Church (LBBC).  He serves as assistant teacher for the LBBC Cornerstone Bible Study and he coaches a LBBC Men's Softball Team.
